OK, I have been having speed & reset probs since upgrading to “we’ll give yer what yer can manage” at Nildram. This morning, my router was set back to 1200K :( I rebooted it and got reset to 2800K, OK I thought. But when the websites didnt look much faster I did a speed test, my link says 2800 but I only have a download of 1MB :(( Bugger. I have reset and hard booted the router and still only 1MB. Bugger. I do hope I havent been dropped to 1MB for good.
I found my speeds at these two sites:
Adslguide, good for UK only testing.
Speedtest, best speedtest gui but over the pond.
Do you guys know any more speed tests or other sites that help in this ADSL speed shite??
p.s. any of you Nildram guys noticed a slowdown of the dns?? It takes much longer to resolve and start loading some pages now.

Just did the speed test myself my 4413 is only getting 3,042.0 Kbps ( = 3.0 Mbps )
I wonder if that means anything. Yeh DNS did slow but i moved a while ago to the back up servers which are much quicker
I have read a bit on ADSLGuide and it doesnt look good! Seems to be loads of problems with being set to a slow speed BRAS at BT and not getting passed that :(( Fuck.
Backup servers? How do I do that?
Just search the forum of nildarm site for the alternative DNS servers. Everone defaults to the main ones unless you point else where. ill dig out what i am using and mail them over
ta matey. I have no idea how to change that info tho! Is it on the router or within Windows?
