I use CCCP. Rather than load shed loads of filters they load a few of the main ones and also use FFDShow, a multi codec jobbie. They also have a program called insurgent that checks for old nasty remnents of other codec packs.
I am happy with it as it is smaller and less intrusive. I did have a problem in a game tho. The FFDShow codec thingy tried to decode all the games audio and caused a problem, it fixed now but I never had that with k-lite.
