Stop Firefox resizing

Don’t know about you but use my browser in a window that is not full screen size so I can see some desktop stuff. So, I hate it when a naughty little website decides to resize my window, mostly to a full screen. I have lived with this since year . and finally got bored of it enough to search for a fix. It’s been there all along :)

To stop this from happening, in the address bar type about:config and hit Enter. Filter for resize. You will see dom.disable_window_move_resize. Double click that line and you will set it to true. Restart the browser to taste.

Unfortunately this doesn’t stop new windows being resized on opening - bloody popup ads!

:(

?? You get popup ads in FF? I dont remember having any. This is not a pop up stopper, just keeps the current window size, new windows get size specified on pop, not a resize.

Where is it you get this then?

I have heard about javascript ways of new windows that get around the pop up thingy but not seen it. I have seen fake windows popup, dhtml floaters etc.
