The good old BBS days…

Ah, the memories :) I remember setting up Fraser’s first BBS for our customers to call into and get drivers, oh the memories of being a sysop! The feeling of watching the people call in and seeing where they went was addictive.
I also remember calling a fair number of the larger UK & US sites, goodness knows what the charges were :) I think I may well have had one on a family and friends number! I cant remember the name of that BBS, I think Blow went there too?

Just looking at some screenshots of the old BBS software has made me all reminiscent  of those days.

I remember Rusty & Edie’s BBS and had no idea that they were raided back then.

I read all about BBS and stuff today on wikipedia and I suddenly realised how early I got into this online shanegans. It’s changed, but not that much ;)

aww man - a flood of old memories….

Damnit I can’t remember the name of the BBS we used to use either…

Flashbacks I’ve just had include:

1. Testing Soops BBS he set up and discussing wild ideas about our own BBS (lucky we didn’t do it as compuserve eploded in popularity a year later). I seem to remember some bubble font text art we did for the loading screen.
2. Dialling a BBS in the states to get a file at £5 per minute.
3. Waiting 10 minutes for a 320×200 porn pic to download.

I’m sure I’ve got all this stuff somewhere…
