Well actually I disagree, they often cock it up when it comes to hardware. Xbox- too costly and cluncky design, keyboards - decided to remove the delete key!, remote controls (Blow?). I’m not a MS basher but they have sucked at hardware in the past.

Do you chaps agree that it is ugly? And I hope that the screen isnt as washed out in person, that looked awful.
The remote was shit - I must have had wayyyy too much money back when I bought it. I don’t think I used it for more than a week and I paid £300 for it.
I will buy everyone a steak dinner if this thing takes off because it looks shit, has the usual M$ lock in features and you can’t use your existing collection of music. Are they crazy?
M$ do, however, generally tend to learn from their mistakes (although they keep making the same mistakes on different products). So yes, the 360 is a massive improvement. I have no idea what keyboard they removed the delete key from but it sounds like a REALLY stupid thing to do (I can’t live without it).
It’s all about the looks. Apple products just look so much better than anything else at the moment. MS can put all the gadgets they like on it, but if it looks as bad as the Zune, they are not going to sell.
I dunno why they made it look so dull and grey, I thought that they were starting to catch on to the design thing with the XB360, but obviously not.
If I was project managing the Zune, I would be looking to headhunt the Apple designers.

I love the MS keyboards, and thought the Xbox looks cool. not seen a remote but may take a look.
It just seems MS missed the whole MP3 players are also a design statement.
