Guys,
Just a quick post as ive finally watched Rambo IV as there was a HD DVD released a couple of weeks back.
I loved the film, story was ok, very well made and seemed to have a start middle and end. Watching Rambo killing with a 50Cal never will get dull and the sniper shots where awsome.
Ok it my seem gory to some, but i felt the special effects where brill and the whole film had the wow factor.
I will give it a 9/10 not only for the film but also because i thought it was better than the previous rambo films.

From another point of view…
I thought it was awful, I watched it a few months back and I though I had been time warped back to the eighties. The film was just the same as all of the sequels after first blood, totally unbelievable and stuffed full of stereotyped goodies and baddies. The plot was predictable, the gore was over the top for no good reason, the body count was higher than the population of Burma and the acting was just plain bad.
I give it a low 4/10.
Yet another point of view:
I was indiferent, didnt love nor loathe the plot, gore or the effects.
I was shocked at how old he looked (even after post production ’shopping) and how “steriod” pumped he was.
Lastly, I heard that he had to fund the movie mostly on his own after no takers from the usual hollywood gang, after seeing the movie, I know why!

As I said in my review…. it’s a film to be watched with the lads over beers. It’s full of everything you need for that situation. Lots of things to take the piss out off and lots of bits for “ewwwwww” and “ouch!”
For lads with beers, 8/10
For any other situation, 6/10 (mainly for nostalgic reasons)
