Film Review

Drillbit Taylor

Not a bad film, funny in places , sweet in places, silly in others. You can see the end coming a mile off.
It you’ve got time to kill worth the watch 5/10

Superhero Movie.

If you’ve wondered where silly slap stick humors gone its here. I am pretty sure you will all hate it. No plot and too many digs at Apple. But for me i still have a soft spot for fart, burp and young ones type humor. laughed all the way through. 7/10

Haven’t laughed so much in ages…

You might not like Chris Moyles but you don’t have to for this…

Pretty much what it says in the title!

Fringe S01E01 Pilot

This is from the creator of Lost, JJ Abramm.

Its really a remake of the x files, except Moulder is a woman , scully is a genuis man who hides is genius well and is the son or a mad scienist who in his past did questionable research for the goverment. The smoking man is the CIA leader who always talks with a voice that seems too serious all the time and finally the Alien conspirousy is a Global Company who is carring out experiments on the worlds population.

Its starts off on a plane in a storm and you cant help to think that if its crashes on a island your head may explode in disgust, but luckily it doesnt!

Torrent

Over all I must say it was worth the watch a 7/10 and I actually want to watch the next episode.
I am sure that means it will flop and never be seen again which is a shame as unlike lost and X files it isnt full of unanswered questions.

Give it a watch and let me know what you think.

The Incredible Hulk

I went to see the new Hulk film last night & here are my thoughts…

Similair in tone to the first Spider-Man movie, The Incredible Hulk is basically a stab at remaking the 70’s TV Show, from the opening credits which are a direct copy to the plot which focuses on Bruce Banner running from place to place trying to cure his unique afflication, although with a few tweaks here & there to update it. Forget the slow, cerebral take of the previous movie, this is going straight to the popcorn market that Spidey tapped into, using a lot of the same tricks to not alienate the general public & still appeal to the comic book geeks out there. There are lots & lots of nods to the comic book throughout which is cool if you’re paying attention & know what you’re looking at but also a massive tie-in to a recent super hero movie that some of us may have enjoyed!

With the Hulk a lot rides on the CGI & they have done an excellent job, not too fast or blurry in general & you can see what’s going on but also not afraid to slow things down & inject some real personality into the Hulk, including some laugh out loud moments.

Overall I really enjoyed it, miles better than Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull & different enough to Iron Man so it wasn’t just a re-hash. Now bring on The Dark Knight….

Thanks from me

Guys and Girls,

Just wanted to say that I’ve finally used my voucher that you all got me for my birthday.

I spent your hard earned cash on a really nice Canon MP610 multifunction printer.
First impressions are very impressive. Print quality is excellent and the speed is just unbelievable.
The supplied software is very good and unlike most HP inkjets the total install with all of the options is 500mb. You might think that’s a lot, but believe me, ALL Hp multifunction injects need 1 GB at least. The printer comes supplied with software for 2k, XP, Vista and Mac, so far I have only tested Vista and Mac and both installed flawlessly.

My favourite piece of supplied software is “Easy-Photo Print EX”. The software walks you through 4 easy steps to print your favourite photos. In step one you choose the image, Step two selects the paper size and type, Step three allows you to select how and how many prints go on the page and step four is print. Just the way I like software to work simple and easy for me to use.

The printer itself is very sweet. I like the way it all closes up when you are not using it, this prevents dust, ciggie ash and anything else getting into the working parts. One nice feature I found by accident is that the front panel automatically drops down if you send a print when it’s closed. I thought that was a nice attention to detail by Canon. The printer comes with two paper trays and a printable CD holder. I didn’t realise until I purchased it that it had a plain paper tray located under the printer so this was a bonus for me. This tray is not meant for glossy photo paper though as the paper path would damage the paper. There is a vertical fold out tray at the back of the printer for all types of glossy paper. I have printed on various sizes of paper and paper types and I have been very impressed with all of the results I’ve had. I did experiment with the cd printing and if I had actually had a proper printable cd, I’m sure it would have worked fine. As it was, with my normal cd the results were messy.

The scanner works well, I tested it with both the supplied software and Photoshop and both images imported with no problems. Copying using the scanner is simply a case of putting the image on the glass and pressing either the black and white copy button or the colour copy button. You can specify, using the front panel controls, various setting for the copy process if you wish.

The printer also comes with support for usb, CF, SD, MMC and MS cards. All of these devices can print directly to the printer without the need for a computer.

The front panel controls are clear and easy to use and I had no problems navigating my way around them.

Well I did come on here just to say thanks, but it looks as if I’ve ended up doing a review. So once again thank you all for my voucher.
